In the first three months of 2021, Russia’s Vanino Commercial Seaport JSC, which is located in Khabarovsk Territory, handled around 1.5mt (million tonnes) of cargo.This was a year-on-year increase of 7%.
 
The main growth came from the handling of ferrous and non-ferrous metal, which grew by 208% compared to the corresponding 2020 quarter, to 142,000 tonnes. Timber was up 51% to 100,000 tonnes, which included 49,000 tonnes of pellets, 33,000 tonnes of sawn timber and 21,000 tonnes of timber trunks.
 
However, there were decreases too. Coal and alumina fell by 3% to 1.2mt.
