Delo Group company PJSC TransContainer and JSC Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) have signed an agreement to develop ways of exporting coal in containers. Consignments, which will be shipped via the Zabaykalsk border crossing point to China, could amount to more than one million tonnes annually. For its part, TransContainer will also look into the possibility of dispatching SUEK’s products via border crossing points at Zamyn-Uud (in Mongolia) and at Grodekovo (in Primorsky Kray).

TransContainer president Aleksandr Isurin noted, “The transport of coal in containers will make it possible to optimise the use of [existing] infrastructure capacity.” This, he stresses, will allow the company to offer its partner a high-quality and reliable service and to ensure the development of export transport from Russia to China.
“We are confident that the signing of this agreement will allow us to find the optimum transport solutions for our business […] and have a positive impact on the development of SUEK’s products by rail,” said SUEK CEO Stepan Solzhenitsyn.
