− Second service center in Peru expands presence in South America
− New facility in La Joya offers repairs, maintenances and overhauls of large components for the mining industry

In December 2021 thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions opened a second service center in Peru, expanding its mining operations in the country and further strengthening its presence in South America. With the installation of this new unit, which is located in La Joya, in the province of Arequipa, the company now has six service centers in the continent. The other Peruvian service center is in Matarani, also in Arequipa province, while other locations include Antofagasta, Chile; and in Brazil Parauapebas and Santa Luzia.

Present in the Peruvian mining market for 16 years, the company plans to expand its service portfolio and double the installed capacity in the region. In this new facility, covering an area of around 13,000 square meters, thyssenkrupp will offer repairs, maintenance and overhauls of large mining equipment components, including its high pressure grinding rolls (HPGR). The proposal is to offer customized programs for the storage of spare parts and strategic supplies, training plans and personalized technical assistance.

“Peruvian mining companies can count on thyssenkrupp as a solid strategic partner that offers a well-structured value proposal, providing a range of customized and complete solutions throughout the sector's activity chain.

Peru is a country of enormous importance to the global mining market and, therefore, we allocate a large part of the investment in the new La Joya service center to the acquisition of equipment with the most advanced technology, aiming at maximize the life cycle of our clients' assets”, explains Paulo Alvarenga, thyssenkrupp’s CEO for South America.

For Jorge Luis Lazo Cornejo, general manager of thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions in Peru, the new service center will increase the service level for current and future customers.

“Modern technologies and facilities, in addition to a fully qualified team, which will be supported by our global service centers, will allow us to be at the forefront of solutions for mining and other markets that require high complexity and quality services”.
