Solent Stevedores, UK leading bulk handler, has been awarded a contract extension following a competitive tender process for providing Stevedoring services at the Port of St Helier, Jersey for a further 11 years.
This contract covers Stevedoring for the New North Quay handling the Lift On Lift Off services and the Elizabeth Quay which handles the Condor Ferries Services on behalf of the Ports of Jersey.
In addition to the new stevedoring contract, Solent Stevedores has also been awarded the Professional Services Tender which extends their responsibilities to the management of the day-to-day operational areas of the New North Quay and the Elizabeth Quay. They will also manage the statutory and non-statutory security of the port, maintenance of essential heavy plant and provide investment in local resilience training alongside the port’s apprenticeship scheme. These services are part of a three-year contract.
The company which has been operating from the port in Jersey since 2012, handled more than 1,690 vessels throughout 2019.
