Useful technology for maximum CO2 savings and flexibility. The battery-powered electric material handler 817 Electro Battery is the first of the free-moving battery models with which SENNEBOGEN will supplement its proven electric series in the future. Thanks to dual power management, in addition to absolute freedom of movement, they continue to offer all the advantages of cable-connected electric excavators. Absolutely safe, comfortable and unrestricted mobile work around the clock with complete zero emissions - a new technological milestone for the industry.
Emission-free electric material handlers have been available with cables for many years. SENNEBOGEN itself has been building electric excavators for over 30 years, which are used stationary or with restricted mobility due to the cable and serve as a solution for many applications. Cordless devices that are already available on the market have so far proven to be disadvantageous due to the limited service life of the batteries. Not so with the new SENNEBOGEN 817 Electro Battery: the new mobile electric material handler with battery technology combines the advantages of both solutions. Because with the SENNEBOGEN cordless excavator, you can continue to work even when it is connected to the power grid for recharging.
In mains operation, dual power management ensures that the power supply from the mains is used for the work movements, while at the same time the excess power fed in recharges the batteries so that the machine can then work independently again. Assuming 2,000 operating hours per year and energy generation from renewable energy sources, the battery-powered excavator saves an average of 31,800 kg of CO2 per year compared to its diesel-powered counterparts - and with just as much freedom of movement. The option of being equipped with a rechargeable battery will be available in the future for the entire electric series from the 817 to the 825.
With the introduction of the new battery-powered electric material handler 817 Electro Battery, SENNEBOGEN is expanding its electric series with freely movable models
that perfectly combine the advantages of stationary electric and battery-powered material handlers.
DUAL POWER MANAGEMENT: EMISSION-FREE MOBILITY WITHOUT LIMITS
The battery-powered version of the popular SENNEBOGEN 817 E electric material handler with a range of 9 m and an operating weight of 18 t thus combines the advantages of two machine concepts: If the material handler is connected to the mains, it uses the cable-based power supply for the work movements without restricting the freedom of movement of the upper carriage and the equipment is restricted. Because the charging current is supplied to the undercarriage, the machine can continue to swivel 360° and work. If the machine is supplied with more power than it consumes, this is used to charge the batteries in the rear. If the mains connection is disconnected, the 817 Electro Battery automatically detects this and then works independently with the same performance data in battery mode.
The great advantage of the dual power management then comes into play again: if the machine works in one working position for an hour, for example, it can be conveniently connected to the power supply via a standardized CE plug and recharged without having to stop working. The capacity of the battery is easily and flexibly recharged in such a way that the machine can be operated continuously for a complete shift and does not have to be switched off for recharging.
PRACTICAL BATTERY TECHNOLOGY FOR EVERY OPERATION, PAIRED WITH PROVEN LARGE-SCALE SERIES TECHNOLOGY
In addition, the machine impresses with its practical design. Thanks to the CEE 63 A plug system used, the 817 Electro Battery can use the existing infrastructure of an industrial company. The built-in 44 kW onboard charger means that investments in expensive charging stations can be avoided. In addition, the batteries can be recharged anywhere, since a simple industrial socket is sufficient. Another plus point of an electric excavator with a battery: The current peaks when the machine is working can be avoided by so-called peak shaving, i.e. if more power is required, e.g. B. with combined movements and full gripper, this can be cushioned by the battery. The connected load is thus reduced to 44 kW without further restrictions.
With all the innovative drive technology, SENNEBOGEN continues to rely on the proven large-scale series technology that has always characterized the brand's handling equipment. As far as the batteries themselves are concerned, the certified high-voltage battery systems are used, which were specially developed for off-road applications and are already used in many e-mobility applications: 3,000 full charging cycles guaranteed.
MORE COMFORT, LESS SERVICE, MAXIMUM SECURITY
In addition, the battery-powered model also offers all the advantages of the proven SENNEBOGEN electric excavators in terms of driver comfort and service - including the elevating Multicab comfort cab. Thanks to this innovative battery-supported electrical solution, all operations in the hall can be carried out emission-free in the future and relieve the employees. At the same time, the machine works with less vibration and noise, does not have to be refueled and requires less service, since engine oil changes etc. are no longer necessary. The driver sees the charge status display conveniently via the SENCON control system, does not have to make any separate settings even if the power supply changes and therefore does not come into contact with the high-voltage technology used in normal operation. The dual power management recognizes the energy source by itself and automatically switches to the appropriate working mode. In addition to the regular diagnosis, the machine independently detects faults and interventions in the high-voltage system and then switches off in a controlled manner, which ensures absolutely safe processes in every situation.
