With an operating weight of up to 300 tonnes, the
SENNEBOGEN 880 models are the heaviest material handling
machines in the company’s Green Line series. The new and
improved D-series offers even greater performance potential
and the loads have been optimized in the working range. An
extremely robust undercarriage ensures maximum stability
and service life under even the most challenging conditions.
Various boom lengths with a reach of up to 35 metres in
height and 13 metres in depth, combined with different pylon
heights as well as the new and highly spacious PortCab cab
mean that the machine can be customized accordingly. The
diverse range of undercarriage solutions provides additional
flexibility. From crawlers with a pylon to rail portals or
crawler portals, from stationary to mobile solutions — the
best solution for every task.
Shoreham Port in the UK recently expanded its
SENNEBOGEN fleet to include the 880 EQ from the new
D-series. This investment underscores Shoreham Port’s
ambitious plans for the future. With a reach of 24 metres and
a maximum load of 38 tonnes, the SENNEBOGEN 880 EQ is
mainly used to unload steel rollers weighing up to 30 tonnes
and structural steel carriers for the new ParkerSteel
processing plant.
Rod Johnstone, chief executive of Shoreham Port, explains:
“We handle around 2 million tonnes of a wide variety of
different goods each year. It was therefore imperative that we
choose a cost-effective and sophisticated machine that can
easily master the increasing size and weight requirements of
the handling process. We are confident that with the new 880
we are optimally equipped to fulfil these needs.”
In addition to the 880 EQ, SHORHAM PORT also
operates two 870 models for unloading timber packages and
various bulk goods. For such an essential machine as the
880 EQ, great importance is attached to service and support.
Since 2005, the SENNEBOGEN distribution and service
partner E.H. Hassell & Sons has been working successfully
with SHOREHAM PORT and enjoys the full trust of the
company.
