When it comes to recycling iron and non-ferrous metals in the Baltic,TOLMETS is the first port of call. The company, based in the Latvian capital of Riga, has grown continuously since its foundation in 1999. Today TOLMETS can point to a market share of 85% in Latvia and 50% for the entire Baltic region. Over half a million tonnes of metal scrap is handled in TOLMETS logistics centres every year.
The company was quick to introduce modern handling technology and environmentally friendly practices. Today it has an outstanding set-up which bears comparison with any in Europe. High-speed, efficient container charging is crucially important here, the containers being hydraulically tilted for vertical filling. This metal recycling expert has been relying for years on the robust, powerful material handlers built in Bad Scho¨nborn. Now, following a bulk order for four machines, it has chosen Terex® Fuchs as its sole supply partner. The first of the new acquisitions to be delivered, an MHL350, has proved impressive from the outset. With a 0.8m3 grab and 2–2.5 loading cycles per minute, it can load up to 120 tonnes of scrap per hour. “In operation, this machine is extremely powerful yet quiet, with very little vibration. In addition, dealer service is first class, with a choice of equipment which exceeded our expectations”, concluded TOLMETS’ operational manager.
MHL350 PERFORMANCE DATA/EQUIPMENT FEATURES
  • powerful performance: engine power 148kW at 2,000rpm for the main hydraulic drive; 20kW generator system;
  • saving where it counts: intelligent engine control delivers high performance with minimal fuel consumption, ensuring low emission levels and extended operation;
