The Brazilian Port of Santos reported record cargo handled during the first three months of the year, despite a slight reduction in vessel calls. Overall, the port handled 20.2mt (million tonnes), equivalent to an increase of 9.7%. Indeed, the 7.85mt noted for March was also a single month record. Imports were up by 47.9% and exports by 8.4%. Outbound soya grain and pellets rose by 27.1%, while sugar rose by 6.8%.
