The San Nicola´s River port in Argentina is now handling grain traffic generated by the Gear and Curcia companies. It has been calculated that around 20,000 tonnes per month will be shipped from the port, of which some will go to neighbouring Brazil. In total, this should lead to around one and a half million tonnes of cereals and oilseeds being shipped annually.
In recent times, some $481,000 has been invested in dust suppression systems and new IT to make this traffic viable. The port itself is located 343km upstream on the right bank of the Parana´ River. To date it has handled traffic as diverse as cereals, fertilizer iron ore, steel products, coal and other minerals.
