The Brazilian states of Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso and Parana´ are forecasting a record wheat harvest this year. Yields are expected to rise 21% to 69.4 million tonnes. Mato Grosso do Sul alone projects an increase of 66.7% to 5.5mt. This is resulting in difficulties in finding sufficient storage space. Given the lack of adequate port, rail and waterway transport, farmers are also having to pay higher costs.
