GAC Australia has appointed Gareth Long as its Commercial Manager, to drive business development at all Australian ports and beyond the country’s borders.
 
With more than 15 years of operational experience at various Australian ports, Gareth has been with GAC Australia since its establishment in 2007 - most recently serving as Port Manager at Mackay. His extensive industry expertise and experience of all types of cargo - including dry bulk, project or tanker – are key to his new role.
 
Now based GAC Australia’s Head Office in Sydney, Gareth joins the Senior Management Team and reports directly to Managing Director Phil Coolican.
 
Sharpening focus
Coolican says: “Our business related to dry bulk trade to and from Australia has grown steadily over the years. To sharpen our focus on this vital sector, we decided to strengthen our Sales Team. Gareth’s industry experience, know-how and enthusiasm make him the ideal choice to lead that team which is tasked to develop our customer base in Australia, with particular focus on key areas like operations and business process.
