The northern Spanish port of Santander is to have a new terminal for the loading and discharge of dry bulk, with particular emphasis on sand and other dusty commodities. There will be on dock storage consisting of three silos, each of which can accommodate 6 million tonnes, for which investment of €8 million is planned. There will also be three discharge hoppers for road haulage vehicles. Work is due to commence in the last quarter of this year. The concession is being sought by the Raos Aditivos company, which aims to build the terminal on a 2475 square metre area on Espigón Norte de Raos.
