Wilmar Gavilon, which is a joint venture between Singapore-based Wilmar International and US company LLC, has bought a private terminal in the Australian port of Brisbane. This was acquired for $30 million from Sugar Terminals Ltd. The terminal, which was built in 1985 to handle sugar, has a storage capacity of 100,000 tonnes. However, the intention is to revamp the facilities so that from the beginning of 2010 the terminal will be able to handle cereals and other dry bulks.
