The bulk carrier CSSC Le Havre with an animal feed commodity on board arrived at HES Gdynia terminal on Friday morning. The 120.000 dwt vessel is more than 254 m long and has the draft of 12,8 m.
CSSC Le Havre has brought to the terminal over 88.000 tons directly from the port of Santos in Brazil, breaking the previous record for the largest soybean meal shipment volume at HES Gdynia, which was won by the capsize vessel Maran Astronomer in March last year with over 57.000 tons.
The HES Gdynia terminal is well capable and equipped to handle vessels of this size and operates storage capacities dedicated for agricultural commodities that can accommodate such volumes in its warehouses.
The main seaways in port of Gdynia have been recently deepened to 16,00 m and soon HES Gdynia terminal will be handling its commodities on the deeper draft of 15,00 m. With more accessability for larger vessels in the port of Gdynia and new storage capacities of 64.000 tons being under construction, HES Gdynia is looking forward to larger shipments in the near future.
