The Board of Directors of the southern Spanish Port of Huelva has approved the 2012–2017 Strategic Port Plan, which aims to shape policy up to 2022. By 2017, the objective is to position the port as a reference facility in the handling of dry bulk and general cargo in the Atlantic Arc. The plan itself identifies 20 main objectives and 71 actions required to achieve these. By 2017, for example, it wants to boost current volumes, which totalled 30,000,000 tonnes per annum, by 9%.
