HOST sails largest cargo loaded on Mississippi river

HOST is excited to announce the first vessel to transit the Mississippi River with a draft over 48 feet since the increase of the channel depth to 49 feet, the largest cargo to sail from the river.

 

The M/V Orient Angel, chartered by Koch Shipping, loaded over 131,000 metric tons of coal at HOST’s United Bulk Terminals Davant on Mar. 9, 2022. HOST is proud to have served as both the vessel agent and terminal operator for yet another historic voyage on the river.

 

This announcement follows the Dec. 2021 news of HOST sailing the first vessel to load at 47.7 feet after the increased draft of 48 feet at that time.
