Global Port Training (GPT), excelling in selecting and training port workers and assisting terminals worldwide to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction, announces yesterday that its board of directors has appointed Nico Berx as Chief Executive Officer. Lode De Bock will focus on the operations and the delivery of GPT projects and has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, ensuring a smooth transition of the leadership. Lode will also continue the development of the unique and proven skill assessment tools, making GPT’s approach unique in its kind. We are very grateful for all the excellent work done by Lode and are delighted that he will continue to contribute to the success of GPT.

Nico Berx held leading positions in port and terminal related companies highly relevant to Global Port Training at Port of Antwerp International and APEC, Cosmos, RBS and Camco Technologies. Nico built up extensive experience and expertise in the ports and terminals sector and has successfully managed complex sales and implementation processes.
 
He was involved in many aspects and areas in the business: handling equipment, terminal operating systems, port management systems, master planning, process optimisation, assessment of investment opportunities, management of investments in ports, emergency response planning, business planning, feasibility studies, design of ports and terminals, equipment specification, procurement processes and actively trained port and terminal professionals in these areas.
 
The main objective of GPT will remain on successfully developing projects and expanding the service portfolio focusing on training the essential resource of any port or terminal: the port workers.
