Du¨sseldorf, 26 January 2011. Gottwald Port Technology GmbH (Gottwald), a subsidiary of Demag
Cranes AG, has been awarded a contract to supply a G HMK 8410 Mobile Harbour Crane to Puerto
Angamos, Mejillones, Chile. The Generation 5 (Model 8) crane will be the largest Gottwald Mobile
Harbour Crane for container handling in the Americas. The G HMK 8410 will also allow the operator to
service super post-Panamax vessels in future. Commercial operation is scheduled to start in the
second quarter of 2011.
“The new crane is an integral part of our ambitious expansion plans and will no doubt contribute to
increasing our efficiency and competitiveness and thus add to the attractiveness of our port,” enthused
Emilio Bouchon, General Manager Puerto Angamos, Mejillones. Thomas H. Hagen, Member of the
Management Board of Demag Cranes AG and COO, emphasised, “There is no doubt that Central and
South America have developed into one of our high-focus markets. Disproportionate growth in the
region underlines its strategic importance for the Demag Cranes Group. We will continue to expand our
local business activities accordingly.”

Sales and service representation in Chile expands Comercial Fesanco S.A., with headquarters in Valparaiso, has been Gottwald’s representative since its
founding in 1998. Fesanco is owned by Miguel Fernandez Young. In the course of the years, Fesanco
has expanded its services and geographic scope with offices and service support stations in Chile,
Ecuador and Peru. For the new Model 8 crane at Puerto Angamos, only 60 km north of the Antofagasta
service station, this means fast and reliable after sales service. In line with the integration process
within the Demag Cranes Group, Fesanco has recently also become the representative for the Demag
brand products of Gottwald’s sister company, Demag Cranes & Components. As part of its expansion
