Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor Company (DMW) has announced that NTPC-BHEL Power Projects Private Limited (NBPPL), a joint venture company between two public sector companies of the government of India — NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) and BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals, Ltd.) — has signed a collaboration agreement with DMW in the form of a technical tie-up for the coal handling plant for thermal power stations in India.
DMW has developed technology for the system design and owns the intellectual property rights of products utilized in coal and FGD handling plants and has collaborated to license its expertise to NBPPL over the next seven years.
This agreement will provide substantial growth opportunities for DMW.
“Not only will we be hiring additional engineers and project managers for our Fairway KS facility, in 2012 we will be opening an office in India to support our new customer, and to ultimately expand into other markets.” said Sudy Vohra, executive vice president and general manager.
The collaboration agreement
will strengthen NBPPL’s opportunities in India for the design, production and delivery of equipment to cater the BOP (balance of plant) requirements for coal handling plants in India.
DMW has supplied design engineering and equipment for CHP for NTPC’s Farakka and Vindhyachal super thermal power plants India and is currently supplying equipment for the NTECL,Vallur TPP and Hinduja,Vizag TPP.
DMW is pleased to enter into this partnership with NBPPL and to be given the opportunity to provide design and supply of proprietary
equipment with the aim for NBPPL to manufacture at their new manufacturing plant being set up in Mannuvasan in District Chittoor of Andhara Pradesh.
