Singapore-listed Cosco Corp says its 51%-owned subsidiary Cosco Zhoushan Shipyard has successfully delivered a 57,00dwt supramax vessel Dai Shan Hai.
The company said Cosco Zhuoshan had signed a delivery document with the buyer on January 5 although it did not reveal the identity of the buyer or the value of the contract.
The deal ca,e after China Ocean Shipping Group axed a $300m bulk carrier newbuilding contract at six affiliate shipyards of Cosco Corp, including Casco
Zhushan Shipyard, in July 2009.
Two subsidiaries of Cosco Group postponed a trio of 57,000dwt bulkers, which were due to be delivered between August 15 and October 31 this year.
A Cosco Corp spokesman refused to comment on whether newly delivered Dai Shan hai was on of the delayed ships.
