The Port of Santa Marta has received a call from the World Prize, which is the deepest draught bulk carrier to arrive at this Colombian port.
Drawing up to 13.34 metres of water, the vessel arrived from Convent, in the United States, loaded with 60,920 tonnes of white and yellow corn. This was equivalent to a 98% capacity loading, since the vessel can hold up to 62,000 tonnes.
According to the port authority, “The Port of Santa Marta facilitates foreign trade thanks to its large natural draught, having the best depth conditions that allow large ships to come here.”
As for the World Prize, she was built in 2021 and has a length of 200 metres and a beam of 32.3 metres.
