The Colombian port of Cartagena is opening up a new operational area to the south to be known as Puerto Bahi´a. This new terminal will have a 475m-long quay and extend back from the shore to distance of 55m. The facility will handle a variety of cargo, including dry bulk, but excluding coal. Overall investment of $250 million will also include the creation of a 37 ha industrial area. The initial phase of the project, which will cost $25 million, will open within the next two years.
