In 1960, graduate engineer Arthur Loibl founded the company
‘Maschinenfabrik und Förderanlagen Arthur Loibl’ in
Straubing, Germany. The first production hall was built in
Arberstrasse 40 in 1961, and the company continued to grow. As
early as 1975, the number of employees had reached 35.
In 1992, the son of the founder, Arthur Josef Loibl, took
over the company. By 1987, conveyor plants for power stations had been added to the
company’s range of products. The company was therefore
renamed ‘Anlagenbau und Fördertechnik Arthur Loibl GmbH’
in 1994.
Things began to get really interesting in the new millennium, with highlights including:
- in 2002, the construction of the highest vertical conveyor in Europe in that year (height: 110m, conveyor capacity 500tph [tonnes per hour]); and
- in 2007: installation of the largest eastern Bavarian stainless steel pickling plant for internal usage. With this plant, stainless steel parts of up to a length of 12m can be pickled and passivated.
Today, Arthur Loibl GmbH has 110 skilled workers as well
as, on average, 18 apprentices (professions include design
draughtsman, construction mechanic and cutting machine
operator) on a production and operation area of 15,000m²
which has been in place now for 50 years at the Straubing
location.
At the anniversary celebration, the CEO Arthur
Loibl thanked his family, all the present and former employees,
the city of Straubing as well as all suppliers, customers and
friends for the longstanding support and loyalty. “Without you,
this success would not have been possible” he said.
Minister of State Emilia Müller expressed her appreciation
and declared Arthur Loibl and his father as “great
entrepreneurs” who have now been on the road to success
for half a century. Arthur Loibl was awarded with two honours:
The Chamber of Industry and Commerce Certificate in honour
of the company’s 50th anniversary, which was presented by Mr.
Keilbart and Mr. Wallstabe and the certificate of assignment as
a commercial judge, which was delivered by the President of
the District Court Regensburg Mr. Ruckdäschl.
