Innovation, digitisation, and lessons from the disruptors will top the agenda at the AntwerpXL exhibition and conference, at the Antwerp Expo, Belgium, from the 7th to the 9th of May 2019.
The three-day event, in association with the Port of Antwerp, will provide a platform for the maritime breakbulk industry to network and learn from the experts, and includes a two-day program of panel discussions, keynotes, and seminars tackling challenges and opportunities for the industry.
“The breakbulk community wants an event to be held in Antwerp, it makes sense to meet in the place where business is done,” said Sophie McKimm, Event Manager, AntwerpXL.
“I am really keen to see innovation on the show floor and we are working with the community to make that happen.
“AntwerpXL will bring people back together to network and discuss the future of breakbulk logistics.”
AntwerpXL organiser Easyfairs, a privately-owned top 20 event organiser, has recently teamed up with Meantime Communications, headed by ex-Heavy Lift and Project Forwarding magazine editor Emma Murray, to help finalise the seminar and content programme, which will be published shortly.
“As well as our focus on innovation, we will be looking to champion diversity in the industry, providing a platform for the next generation of leaders to network and learn from each other,” said Emma Murray, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Meantime Communications.
AntwerpXL is also working with 3PL heavy lift network the Project Professionals Group (PPG) to deliver an education program for project forwarding managers at the show.
American Ro-Ro Carriers, Belgo Iberian Maritime, Boeckmans, Caribbean Line, Conti7, Empros Shipping, Euroports, Fednav, Grimaldi, Katoen Natie, Liebherr, MSC, Nile Dutch, Port of Duqm, PSA Breakbulk, Q Terminals, Sallum Lines, Soridom, UAL & Zuidnatie are amongst the companies exhibiting at the show, now with limited space available.
“The Port of Antwerp is the biggest breakbulk port and the biggest steel port in Europe,” said Philippe Oyen, Chairman, Antwerp Shipping Federation (ASV) and CEO of Belgo-Iberian Maritime.
“It is therefore logical to have a breakbulk conference in Antwerp.”
Easyfairs specialises in niche community-run events and invests 80% of its profits back into its shows, which cover verticals including Oil and Gas and manufacturing.
