Almeria Port Authority is to undertake upgrade work on the Ribera I and II quays at the port of Carboneras at a cost of approximately €20.8 million. This will involve the construction of 246 metres of additional quay, with alongside draft of 18 metres. The port handles significant quantities of import/export dry bulk.
