Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) has announced that it is to build a grain export terminal in Nueva Palmira, Uruguay, which will handle corn, wheat, soyabeans and soya meal. Construction has already begun and should be completed within two years. It will have 180,000 tonnes of storage capacity and will load approximately 2.8mt (million tonnes) in the first year of operation.Vessels up to 100,000dwt can be accommodated at the terminal, which is situated at the mouth of the Uruguay River.
